The holidays have come and gone and at this stage, I should be booked for my trip to Japan. The finances were there, the research was done, but in just a matter of weeks, the planning for the trip has hit a wall that is not going away anytime soon.
The 2014 Japan trip is officially pushed back to 2015. As painful as it is to say, making it to Tokyo in May is just financially possible, unless I find a bag of money on the street. I recently had to put over $900 into my car for major repairs and the holiday season proved a costly one. More money went out than I had expected and less came in, making it a little hard and forced me to dip my hand into my Tokyo fund.
I’m angry, disappointed, and a little sad that it can’t happen. Not having my sister come along was a downer, but was never a deal breaker for the trip. This one simply comes down to the dollars and they don’t add up. So what now? I’m not giving up, in fact, my resolve after feeling like I’ve been smacked in the face (paying $900 will do that to ya), is even stronger to make a trip to Japan. I’ll have more on this later, but for now, 2014 isn’t the year for the trip.
