So, over 24 hours ago the United State election ended and Trump was selected as the next President of the United States. There is so much going on right now across all the media platforms, but I had to add my two cents to the rest of it. Here are my quick thoughts on all of this chaos.
Let’s start with Hillary. Did I vote for her? Yes, but I wasn’t that excited about it. Did she have baggage and some major issues, yes, of course. The DNC could have found a better candidate, but at the end of the day, I felt she could at least run the country with stability and some predictability. I know that is not the greatest endorsement of someone leading a country, but out of everyone on the ballot, she seemed the least of all the evils. No offense to Gary Johnson or Jill Stein, but she could at least name a foreign leader. Again, the baggage behind her is bad, but that has been hammered over a million times (with no smoking gun) but on to the last part of this rant, the guy that this country elected.
Sigh, Trump. We know the story about who he is and what he has done over the campaign and in the past, but he is now leading the most powerful nation in the world. I am legit scared. His campaign was chaotic, he seems chaotic and how people are reacting on social media, I am not alone. There is fear, unease, and sadness on so many levels right now. I did not want him as President and now for the next four years, we have to endure it. As bad as it is, as an American, we have to unit as a people now matter what happens with him and his Presidency. We still have to get up, go to work, and run as a society, that doesn’t stop. It’s not real fun right now, but this nation must work together no matter what the top leader does at the top, good or bad.
This country is strong and over the years has shown it can survive some of the greatest tragedies we have ever had to endure. While we all hope this man doesn’t kill this nation, we must as a people be prepared for whatever he brings to this land.
