The Rays, 15-16, fell 8 to 4 to the Blue Jays to begin their 3-game series. Tampa had the lead, but awesome, the bullpen blew it late and dropped Tampa under .500 again.

The Rays had the lead in this game as they went ahead 3 to 0, but the Blue Jays are swinging the hot bat and got back in the game. In the 8th, the bullpen fell apart for the Rays as the Jays took the commanding 8 to 4 lead and the Rays just had no answer to come back late for any kind of rally.

Evan Longoria was 3 for 4 and scored a run in one of his better games in the last month. Kevin Kiermaier left the game after getting by a pitch, x-rays were negative so we all hope he is day to day. Daniel Robertson (3) and Derek Norris (2) both hit home runs in the game.

Chris Archer (ND) went 6 innings, allowing 4 hits, 3 runs, 1 walk, and struck out 11 batters. Chase Whitley went 1.1 innings, allowing a hit and his first run of the year. Jumbo Diaz (0-2) went just a third, allowing 2 hits, 3 runs, and walking a batter. Yeah, this was just a trash game late for the Rays as they fell apart late after leading for most of it.

Durham Bulls
